Report Shows the Progress of ePrescribing in Each State


As per the data revealed by a report by ePrescribing network Surescripts mentioning the use of ePrescribing in each state, Minnesota has the highest rate of ePrescribing. As much as 82 percent physicians sent prescriptions electronically in 2011, an increase from 49 percent in 2010.

The report revealed that “61 percent of eligible prescriptions in Minnesota were sent electronically, thus state surpass Massachusetts in the network's state-by-state rankings. Nationally, 58 percent of office-based prescribers sent prescriptions electronically in 2011, Surescripts found. However, only nine states have at least 70 percent of physicians electronically submitting prescriptions.”
