5010 Remittance Begins July 30

The remittance for 5010 has already started and the new system promises many improvements over the earlier counterpart.

These improvements include the reporting of the National Coverage Determinations (NCDs) and Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) by the Health Policy. Plus, the 5010 version of the 835 will have a website explaining the specific LCD or NCD code; access to the code and their descriptors will be made available; and technical contact information shall be given which was not there in the earlier version. In addition, the new version will also have new segments such as coverage expiration date and claim received date to help providers get important information without manual intervention.
